Terms of service.
Last updated September 29, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and HardPass when you use the HardPass app. We have kept them as short and plain as we can. By using the app you agree to them.
1. The service
HardPass is an impulse-control app. It helps you run no-buy and no-spend challenges, delay purchases for 24 hours, and see what the money you kept could become. It does not connect to your bank, does not move money, and does not make purchases for you.
2. Not financial advice
Projections in the app, such as the value of your savings at 10% a year, are illustrations meant to make the money feel real. They are not investment, tax or financial advice, and nobody is promising you a return. Decisions about your money are yours.
3. Who can use HardPass
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to agree to these terms without a parent. If you are under 18, make sure a parent or guardian is fine with you using the app and with any purchase.
4. Your content
What you enter (challenges, urges, check-ins, notes) belongs to you. You allow us to store and process it only to run the features you use, including the optional backup and the AI features, as described in our Privacy Policy. Don't enter anything you don't have the right to use.
5. AI-generated text
Some text in the app is written by an AI model: nudges, captions, insights and suggested categories or prices. It can be wrong or miss context. Use your own judgement, and check captions before you post them.
6. HardPass Pro and payments
The core of HardPass is free. HardPass Pro unlocks extra features for a subscription or other in-app purchase, at the price shown in the app before you buy. Prices can differ by country.
- Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We cannot issue them directly.
- If a subscription price changes, you will be told in advance as the store requires, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
7. Fair use
Don't misuse the app or its server: no attempts to break, reverse engineer, overload or get around paid features, no automated scraping of the AI features, and nothing illegal. We may limit or stop access for anyone who does.
8. Our app
The HardPass app, name, logo, design and content are ours and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these terms.
9. Changes and availability
We improve HardPass often, so features can change, and some may be added to or moved out of Pro. We will try to give notice of changes that matter to you. We don't guarantee that the app or its online features will always be available or error-free.
10. Disclaimer and liability
HardPass is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost savings or lost data. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for HardPass in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as for intent or gross negligence, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
11. App Store terms
If you downloaded HardPass from the App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, is not responsible for claims relating to the app, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms with the right to enforce them against you.
12. Ending the agreement
You can stop using HardPass at any time by deleting the app (and cancelling any subscription in your store account). We may end or suspend access if you seriously break these terms.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Swiss law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The new version will be posted here with a new date. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use HardPass after that means you accept it.
